About Emma

__

Emma Altafulla was born in Barcelona in 1995. Born and raised until 2007 when she moved to California and later moved to Stockholm in 2013. Emma’s passion for art started the moment she held a pencil. Ever since then, Emma has worked towards her dream of becoming an artist. With no painting education, and a couple of art summer camp courses she took when she was 9, Emma taught herself to master oil painting through lots of practice. She is a strong believer that practice does not make perfect; practice just makes better.

Emma’s art is about observations and reactions. The goal is to make the observer react to their own interpretation of the work. The observations can range from intimate recognizable moments to outright audacious moments. The inspiration for her works and observations come from daily life, from observing human interactions to conversations with interesting people. Her work medium is mainly based in oils, but she also partakes in acrylics, watercolors, graphite, street art and lately tattooing too.

The most important thing with uncommissioned street art is to choose…

Stockholm - Malmö

As much as I love Stockholm, I love taking the train down to Malmö, there is a certain sense of mental freedom with Malmö. Stockholmers are incredibly status-fixated and like to judge things that they don't...

The pea soup jar is my homage to Banksy's homage to Andy Warhol's Champbell soup. I thought Soldatens ärtsoppa is the most iconic can in Sweden...
